Integrative Counsellor and Group Facilitator

I work with adults for Kinergy and in private practice in Bristol, using rooms in Kingswood, Frenchay, Fishponds and Bedminster.

I work with children and young people from nursery to university age, in various settings in and around Bristol.

With a colleague, Donal Carmody, I co-faciltate a therapy group for men and we also offer different groups for individuals, professionals and organisatons.

Donal and I are running men's therapy group which will run for 23 weeks starting in October/November 2017.  The group is for men who are survivors of rape and/or sexual abuse who have, ideally, done some individual work in exploring the impact of trauma on their lives.  As an introduction, the first three weeks focus on the impact of sexual abuse and trauma and looking at coping techniques. It is not a necessity to have had counselling but we do need people in the group to have a level of awareness about their truama.  If you are interested, or know someone who might be interested in finding out more about the group, please contact Kinergy or leave a message with myself or Donal.  To find out more see: Group Therapy.

For many people there are times in life when we feel the need for help and support, this can be difficult and takes courage. Seeking support is a recognition that we are ready for change and personal growth and to gain a better understanding of ourselves.

I can help explore experiences which have shaped and influenced and affected current behaviours and relationships; to find ways in which these might be challenged or changed, and to look towards a more positive future.

Successful counselling relies on the strength and quality of the relationship that develops, this is true for adults, young people and children. The work depends on forming a warm, positive and accepting relationship within a safe confidential space in which to talk and be heard without judgement. It is a space to find acceptance and to find ways to move forward.
